The knowledge of our local community members is vast and rich and we value the relationships we develop with our local community. During the year we aim to build upon our relationships with the community to enhance community involvement and extend on the children’s interests and understanding of their world. This can include partnerships with our local schools, local elders, local experts and the ‘everyday’ people of our community.
The physical environment beyond the fenceline of our preschool also provides an array of possibilities for us. For this reason we implement an outdoor education program, and local community walks are a regular feature within our program. The aim is to encourage a sense of our greater environment, community and to be connected with the land. During the year we may get out into the community to deliver the Valla Views, visit Anderson Park, the local shops, the beach, the local bushland and we work in our community garden space regularly with children.
